Getting Started

What is Pullup?

Pullup is a social platform that shows you real, time-bound events happening near you right now — on campus, in your neighborhood, wherever you are. You tap in, get added to a temporary group chat with the other attendees, and go. No pre-planning required.

Who can join Pullup?

Pullup is available to individuals aged 18 and older. During the pre-launch phase, access is granted to waitlist participants in waves. Join the waitlist and you'll be notified when your cohort is activated.

How do I get off the waitlist?

We're rolling out access campus by campus and city by city. Submit your details via the waitlist form and you'll receive an email or SMS notification when access opens for your area. There's no action you need to take — we'll come to you.

Is Pullup free?

Yes. Pullup is free to download and use. We will always communicate any changes to this clearly and in advance.

Joining & Attending Events

How do I join an Event?

Browse the live map, find an Event that interests you, and tap "I'm pulling up" to confirm your spot. As soon as you confirm, the exact venue pin and the group chat unlock instantly. That's it.

Is confirming attendance a real commitment?

Yes — and intentionally so. When you claim a spot, you're taking it from someone else who could have joined. Repeated no-shows negatively affect your reliability score, which can restrict your ability to join future Events. If plans change, cancel early.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancel through the Event screen as soon as you know you can't attend. The earlier you cancel, the better — it frees your spot for someone else and protects your reliability score.

What is the group chat?

When you join an Event, you're added to a temporary group chat with the Host and all confirmed Attendees. It exists for the duration of the Event and is automatically and permanently deleted 7 days after the Event ends.

What happens if spots are full?

Spots are set by the Host and are genuinely limited. If an Event is full, the Host must raise the cap for additional spots to open. There is no waitlist within an Event.

Can I see who else is going?

Yes — confirmed Attendees are visible within the Event and the group chat. This is by design, to help you gauge whether an Event is the right fit before you commit.

Hosting an Event

How do I create an Event?

Tap the Host button, fill in your Event details (title, description, time, capacity, and photos), and publish. Your Event will appear on the live map immediately. Simple.

What photos can I use?

Camera-only. All Event photos must be real photographs of the actual venue or activity, taken directly with your phone camera. AI-generated images, stock photos, and screenshots are not permitted. This is Pullup's anti-fake enforcement line — it protects every user who might show up based on what you posted.

How long does an Event stay active?

Events expire automatically at their set end time. Recurring Events re-post themselves on schedule without manual action from you.

Can I cancel an Event I created?

Yes. Cancel via the Event screen. Where possible, cancel at least 2 hours before the Event starts so that Attendees have time to adjust their plans. The group chat will notify all confirmed Attendees automatically.

Am I responsible for what happens at my Event?

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of your Event listing, and for obtaining any venue permissions required. Pullup is a coordination platform — it does not co-organize, endorse, or take responsibility for Events hosted by users. See the Terms of Service for the full scope of Host obligations.

Can I charge for entry to my Event?

Pullup is a social platform, not a ticketing service. Events should be genuinely social in nature. Events that exist primarily to solicit payment are not permitted.

Safety & Reporting

Something feels wrong — what do I do?

Tap the ⋯ menu on any profile or Event and select Report. Safety reports — particularly those involving harassment, threats, or physical danger — are escalated to the highest priority queue and reviewed by a real person as quickly as possible. Do not hesitate to report; there is no penalty for good-faith reporting.

How do I block someone?

Tap the ⋯ menu on their profile and select Block. Blocking is immediate and mutual — the blocked user disappears from your map, your Event view, and your messages, and you disappear from theirs. Blocking is permanent until reversed by you.

What happens after I report someone?

Our moderation team reviews the report. We don't share details of actions taken against other accounts for privacy reasons, but every safety report is taken seriously. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency services first — do not wait for an in-app response.

Can I trust people I meet through Pullup?

Pullup verifies phone numbers and enforces identity standards, but it cannot guarantee the character of every user. Exercise the same judgment you would when meeting anyone new: meet in public places, inform a friend of your plans, and trust your instincts. If anything feels off at a real-world Event, leave immediately and report via the app.

What if I witness illegal activity at an Event?

Leave immediately and contact local emergency services. Report the Event and the user responsible via the in-app report function. Pullup will cooperate fully with any resulting law enforcement inquiry.

Is my location always visible to other users?

No. Your precise location is never broadcast to other users openly. The map shows Events near you — not your real-time GPS pin. When you join an Event, other attendees may infer your proximity to the venue through social dynamics, but your live location is not shared in real-time.

Account & Privacy

How do I delete my account?

Account deletion can be requested by emailing pulluppteam@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." We will process your request and confirm deletion within 30 days. All associated data will be handled per our Privacy Policy.

What data does Pullup collect about me?

See our full Privacy Policy for a complete breakdown. In short: account details, location data (in real-time, for the map), Event participation, and app usage telemetry. We do not sell any of this data.

How long is my data retained?

Group chat messages are permanently deleted 7 days after Event conclusion. Account data is retained for the duration of your active account and deleted upon closure. See the Privacy Policy's retention table for full details.

Can I request a copy of my data?

Yes. Email us at pulluppteam@gmail.com with "Data Access Request" in the subject line. We will provide a copy of your personal data within 30 days, subject to identity verification.

Reaching Our Team

How do I contact support?

Email us at pulluppteam@gmail.com. A real human reads every message. Include the Event title or username if your message concerns a specific person or Event — it helps us investigate faster. We aim to respond within 2 business days.

What should I include in a support email?

Include: (1) a clear description of the issue; (2) the username or Event title involved, if applicable; (3) any relevant screenshots; and (4) your account's registered phone number or email so we can locate your account.

I found a bug. How do I report it?

Email pulluppteam@gmail.com with "Bug Report" in the subject line. Describe what happened, what you expected to happen, and your device/OS version. Screenshots or screen recordings are extremely helpful.

I have feedback or a feature idea.

We genuinely want to hear it. Email pulluppteam@gmail.com with "Feedback" in the subject line. The platform grows because of input from real users.
